This Christmas, Epsom & Ewell Refugee Network would like to support refugee families in our area to buy Christmas gifts for their children, and to host a Christmas celebration so that the community has a space to come together.
Christmas will be very challenging for many people we work with this year. Many Ukrainian families are separated from their husbands, fathers, brothers and parents for a second year. We have seen how the ongoing financial insecurity many are experiencing, and the constant fear of losing those not living with them in the UK, can be even more difficult at a time that should involve a coming together of families to share in food and stories and traditions.
This gift will provide a £15 voucher for each child so that their parents can choose a meaningful Christmas gift for them. It will also help cover costs of the party food on the day. The party will be organised by the Ukrainian community, with support from the EERN team. We know that this will involve some delicious food, singing of beautiful carols, and an opportunity for people to celebrate and support each other and the community they have built.
Please consider making a donation today. Each £20 donation will directly support a refugee child and their family.
Please note, all families that we work with will be receiving additional support this Christmas, and the non-Ukrainian families we work with will also be invited to the Christmas party to share in the celebration and support.
If you would like to donate, but prefer not to do so via our online form, please get in touch so that we can share our banking details with you.
Every donation we receive contributes to our capacity to provide highly responsive and targeted services.
We greatly value all our donors who are an integral part of Epsom & Ewell Refugee Network and the work that we do.
As a small local programme, we can ensure that your financial support will be directed to the area of most need. Please get in touch if you'd like to discuss making a donation, as we would be delighted to hear from you to share information about our work and the current priority areas for funding.
